PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
We're looking forward to your presentation at the 2026 Science of Tai Chi & Qigong as Whole-Person Health Conference to be held at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School from April 30-May 1, 2026.
Below are the details for the oral and poster abstract presentations.
Oral Abstract Presentations
Presentation Details
- Each presentation is 15 minutes total — please plan for a 10-minute talk followed by 5 minutes for Q&A.
- Only PC laptops will be used; they will be equipped with the latest software, but ensure your presentation is fully-compatible with a PC.
- Personal laptops may not be used.
Onsite Presenter Instructions
- Arrive at your assigned presentation room 15 minutes prior to the session start time to familiarize yourself with the microphone, slide advancer, and stage setup.
- Please sit in the front row reserved for speakers.
- The Session Chairs will introduce you and monitor presentation timing.
- A slide advancer will be available at the podium.
- Turn off mobile phones during conference sessions.
Presentation Upload for Oral Abstract Presenters
Presentations will NOT be accepted onsite. All oral abstract session presenters upload their final presentation prior to the Conference via a Presentation Upload Platform. The upload process is in place to ensure that all sessions run smoothly. Failure to submit your presentation by the Friday, April 17 deadline could result in errors and/or missing information in your presentation.
Format Requirements

Oral abstract presentations will be best shown in a widescreen PPT format of 16:9 - Dimensions are listed as width x height.

The presentations should be easily read at a distance of approximately 3 feet (1 meter) with a minimum font of 24 points on each slide.
Poster Presentations
Each poster will be presented by the presenting author at one of the two poster sessions days at the Conference, and the schedule is listed below. Please note that all posters will be up for both days for attendee viewing.

*At least one of the authors must be registered and present at the poster during the assigned poster session (see above).
Poster display boards will be provided. Presenters are required to provide their own printed posters to affix to the display boards. There’s information about printer options below, if you wish to print and pick up or have it shipped to you locally. Each poster display space is limited to the dimensions of 44 in. x 44 in. (112 cm. x 112 cm.), so plan your poster size accordingly. Push pins will be provided on-site to affix paper posters to the display board. If you bring a poster made of a different material, plan to bring Velcro (or similar) to affix your poster to the bulletin board-style display board.
Note: Posters not removed during the designated dismantle times listed above will be discarded.

Poster presentation space is limited to the dimensions of 44 in x 44 in (112 cm x 112 cm). Dimensions are listed as width x height.

Any poster dimensions within that space are acceptable (example: 40 in x 36 in is just fine).

Posters should be easily read at a distance of approximately 3 feet (1 meter). (see Components and Design of a Poster below for font sizes)

A poster printed on one large sheet of matte or semi-gloss paper is encouraged.
Layout

Include the title of the presentation in large letters, the authors' names, and the institution(s) where the work was completed at the top center of the poster.

Poster numbers will be provided onsite and will be placed above your poster; you do not need to leave room on your poster for your poster number.

Introduction and Summary/Conclusions sections are advised.

Double-space lines of text.

Only text, graphs, photographs, and artwork may be placed on the poster board.
Components and Design of the Poster
- The heading comprises a title for the research project, author names, and author affiliations (including city and country). Headings have more impact in a sans-serif font such as Helvetica or Arial.
- Title (no smaller than 72 points, preferably in a sans serif font)
- Author names (no smaller than 36 points, preferably in a sans serif font)
- Affiliations (no smaller than 26 points, preferably in a sans-serif font)
- Abstract
- The abstract summarizes the main results succinctly.
- Body
- The body text of the poster will describe the background, methodology, results, and interpretation. Body text should be no smaller than 16 points and preferably in a serif font such as Times New Roman or Garamond.
- Graphics
- Graphics are essential for an effective poster. Include captions below each graphic. Captions for graphics should be no smaller than 14 points and preferably in a serif font. Graphics should be understandable without recourse to a detailed text caption.
- Conclusions
- Conclusions should be clear and succinct and provide "take home" messages.

The below businesses are within 15 minutes of the hotel for local pickup or delivery. We recommend contacting the print shops directly in advance to confirm availability, sizing, and turnaround time.
