The Science of Tai Chi & Qigong as Whole-Person Health Conference will take place in Boston, MA, on Thursday, April 30 & Friday, May 1, 2026. We hope you will not only attend but also contribute your depth of knowledge and expertise by submitting an abstract proposal centered around the theme Deepening Our Physiological Understanding of Mind-Body Integration. Types of Abstracts Submissions corresponding with the Tai Chi & QiGong Conference theme are more likely to be awarded an oral presentation. - Oral and/or Poster Presentation

Priority Topic Areas Abstracts should connect to one of the Priority Topic Areas listed below. - TCQ’s Impact on Cross-systems Physiology (including but not limited to: gut-brain, heart-brain, cognitive-motor, neuro-immune)
- Biophysiological and Psychosocial Mechanisms Underlying Clinical Effects of TCQ
- Bridging Eastern/Western Conceptual Frameworks with Rigorous Science (e.g., links between connective tissue, interstitium, meridians, and qi)
- Innovative Methodologies in Clinical and Translational TCQ Research (including but not limited to: remote delivery/virtual platforms/telehealth, use of wearable sensors, and other biotechnology)
- Other
Submission Information - The presenting author is expected to register for the Conference by Friday, December 12, 2025.
- Scientific abstracts must present original data.
- Abstracts will be evaluated on the data included in the submission and need to be based on available data. Statements such as "data will be available for the meeting" will typically lead to rejection of an abstract.
- Accepted abstracts will be selected for a 15-minute oral presentation (10-minute presentation with 5 minutes Q&A) or a poster presentation.
- Abstracts are presented by an individual, typically the submitting author.
- Acknowledgement of receipt of abstract will be sent to the presenting author's email upon completion of submission.
Submission Requirements Submissions MUST include the following information: - Contact information for all presenters involved in the session being proposed.
- Session title (maximum of 150 characters)
- Abstracts are limited to 300 words and must include the following information: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion.
- All submissions must be made through the Call for Abstracts website.
- Submission must include demographics information for the Presenting Author.
Submission Deadline The Call for Abstracts will close on September 30, 2025. Status Notification Notification of your proposal status will be sent in December 2025. Please hold the dates of Thursday, April 30 & Friday, May 1, 2026, until you are notified of the status of your submission. Evaluation Due to the level of interest in presenting abstracts and constraints of the symposium schedule, some worthy proposals may not be accepted. Choosing the appropriate abstract topic, and ensuring all items on the application are carefully addressed, will increase the chance of acceptance. Selection will be determined by the Scientific Committee on the basis of: - Scientific quality
- Theme representation
- Appropriateness of the format
- Relevance to research in integrative medicine and health
- Number of presentation slots available
Abstract Terms & Conditions By submitting an abstract, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions: - Accepted presenters do not receive compensation or reimbursement of expenses for presentation at the TCQ Conference.
- All presenting authors must register and pay to attend the TCQ Conference.
- If selected, presenters agree to adhere to the schedule established by the TCQ Conference and comply with all requirements set forth by the planning committee.
